In August 2004, the "Association for Aiding Survivors of the Nanjing Atrocities by Japanese Invaders" was established (hereinafter referred to as the "Association"). In 2024, it was renamed the "Association for Aiding Survivors of the Nanjing Atrocities by Japanese Invaders and Inheriting Historical Memory of the Nanjing Massacre." The Association is a city-wide, joint, and non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by institutions and individuals in Nanjing dedicated to assisting victims of Japanese invaders and inheriting the historical memory of the Nanjing Massacre.

Since its establishment, the Association has actively carried out various tasks in areas such as care and assistance for Nanjing Massacre survivors, medical support and the preservation and transmission of historical memory of the Nanjing Massacre. Its efforts have played a positive role and have been widely recognized by all sectors of society, as well as by the survivors of the Nanjing Massacre and their families.

The association extends holiday greetings to the survivors in various ways and organizes a range of special activities.

In collaboration with Jiangsu Province Hospital, the association established the "Nanjing Massacre Survivors Healthcare Service Team," which conducts regular home visits to survivors, providing health check-ups, medical care, and consultation services.

The association actively organizes survivors and their descendants to participate in various memory preservation activities, safeguarding the historical truth of the Nanjing Massacre and passing down the memory of this history.
