Research Society of the History of Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders
On August 14, 1995, the Research Society of the History of Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders was established, which was attached to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders. It is an academic, non-profit and local social group of voluntary experts, scholars and social workers in history, law, politics, sociology, journalism and other disciplines engaged in the study of Nanjing Massacre and related issues in Nanjing area. On October 10, 2016, the society held the fifth general meeting of its members, producing the new president, vice presidents, secretary general and directors of the society. The current president is Zhang Sheng, professor, doctoral supervisor and the president of the School of History, Nanjing University.
The purpose of the society is to abide by the constitution, law, regulations and national policies, to promote the research on issues related to the Nanjing Massacre and the history of Japanese atrocities, to preserve historical facts, and to carry out historical education and international exchange programs for peace and friendship The society accepts professional guidance and supervision from the Nanjing Association of Social and Science Circles, and the registration supervision authorities --Nanjing Civil Affairs Bureau.
