On the morning of April 23rd, representatives of teachers and students from Nanjing University of the Arts held a commemoration ceremony at the Mourning Square of our Memorial Hall to mourn the victims of the Nanjing Massacre. Following the ceremony, the Memorial Hall and Nanjing University of the Arts formally signed the agreement to jointly establish the "Great Ideological and Political Education" practice teaching base.

At today's joint construction ceremony, Director Zhou Feng and Secretary Yu Feng of the Party Committee of Nanjing University of the Arts unveiled the plaque for the Practice Teaching Base for "Grand Ideological and Political Course." Deputy Director Shi Pengcheng of the Memorial Hall and Deputy Secretary Li Xiangmin of the Party Committee of Nanjing University of the Arts signed the joint construction agreement. The cooperation between the two sides has now evolved from academic discussions to a more concrete and regularized practice.

Zhou Feng stated, "As the second classroom of society, the Memorial Hall, in cooperation with Nanjing University of the Arts to build a political education teaching base, jointly shoulders the mission and responsibility of 'cultivating people.' We will work hand in hand to closely integrate the historical memory of the Memorial Hall with the educational wisdom of Nanjing University of the Arts so that every student can enhance their understanding of history, nationhood, and identity through the narration of historical stories here." Yu Feng remarked, "The practice education base that was established today is not only a window to the future but also a bridge connecting art with political education and schools with society. It enables the mission of cultivating virtue to be sublimated through practice. We believe that both the Memorial Hall and the university, adhering to the concept of consensus-building, shared construction, and mutual benefits, can leverage each other’s strengths to create a distinctive platform for political education and talent cultivation."After the joint construction ceremony, student representatives from Nanjing University of the Arts presented a poetry recitation titled "Mourning and Peace" and a vocal performance of "Flowers in May," using the language of art to interpret the profound themes of remembering history and inheriting memory.

In the future, the two sides will jointly develop immersive ideological and political courses, leveraging the historical materials of the Memorial Hall and the creative resources of the Nanjing University of the Arts. By incorporating forms such as music and visual arts, they aim to make historical education more emotionally resonant and impactful.
