On April 12th, our museum officially signed a cooperation agreement with the School of International Studies, Nanjing University, in the museum's auditorium to jointly establish a “Peace Cultural Exchange Practice Base.” This collaboration aims to deeply integrate the resources of the museum and the university, to create a cross-disciplinary and international platform for cultural exchange practice. It seeks to provide new impetus and new talents for the inheritance of historical memory and the promotion of the concept of peace and development.

From Historical Remembrance to the Launch of Joint Efforts

On the afternoon of April 12th, students from the School of International Studies, Nanjing University held a commemoration ceremony at our museum and subsequently visited the “Nanjing Massacre Exhibit.” Through historical displays, audio-visual records, and ritualized teaching, the students gained a deep understanding of the history of the Nanjing Massacre and comprehended the significance of peace. Cheng Zijia, a sophomore from the School of International Studies, said, “As young students, by visiting this exhibit, we need to engrave the history and our reflections in our hearts and use them to drive our academic pursuits and future careers.”

From Academic Dialogue to Practical Deepening

This joint effort is based on the long-term cooperation between the two parties. In March of this year, a delegation led by Zhou Feng, the director of the Memorial Hall, visited the School of International Studies, Nanjing University. They held a symposium on topics such as “Historical Research and International Dissemination” and “Talent Cultivation and Think Tank Construction,” proposing cooperation directions including integrating interdisciplinary resources and promoting the international dissemination of historical materials. Today, at the joint construction ceremony, Director Zhou Feng and Li Yuehua, the Party Committee Secretary of the School of International Studies, Nanjing University, unveiled the plaque for the “Peace and Cultural Exchange Practice Base.” Ling Xi, the deputy director of the Memorial Hall, and Zhu Feng, the dean of the School of International Studies, Nanjing University, signed the joint construction agreement. The cooperation between the two parties has now moved from academic discussions to more concrete and regular practices. According to the joint construction agreement, our memorial hall and the School of International Studies, Nanjing University, will work together to sow the seeds of peace and patriotism. The memorial hall will leverage the research institute platform to support students' academic research and discussions. In return, the faculty and students of the School of International Studies will actively participate in various educational activities at the memorial hall and regularly conduct joint party branch activities and party and league day activities. The base will utilize the intellectual resources of both parties to enhance academic capabilities and jointly build a bridge of history and peace.
