Memorial Hall Delivered Care to Nanjing Massacre Survivors before the Mid-Autumn Festival
Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese festival, staff members of the Memorial Hall visited and offered warm holiday greetings to survivors of the Nanjing Massacre. Among them were Chen Guixiang, Jing Zhizhen, Liu Minsheng, Zhou Wenbin, Xiong Shulan, Zhou Zhilin, and Li Changfu.
September 26 was the birthday of Xie Guiying, a Nanjing Massacre survivor. Zhou Feng, director of the Memorial Hall, along with some staff members, went to her home and celebrated her birthday. Xie is almost 100 years old, but is still able to see and hear clearly. She listens to the news every day. And she can still do needlework.
On September 27, Ling Xi, deputy director of the Memorial Hall, and some staff members visited Chen Guixiang and sent holiday greetings to her. Chen is now blind because of diabetes, but she is optimistic about life.
On September 28, Shi Pengcheng, deputy director of the Memorial Hall, and some staff members visited Jing Zhizhen one day before the Mid-Autumn Festival. Jing now lives a happy, quiet life in an orderly manner. She waters flowers at home, and often helps cook for her children.
