On the morning of July 19, nearly 300 young campers from the 2023 “Tracing Your Ancestry in China” Summer Camp Jiangsu visited the Memorial Hall. Coming from 11 countries and regions including the United States, Canada, Germany, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates, these teenagers with Chinese roots returned to their homeland and gathered together to learn about a history which shall not be forgotten. They observed a moment of silence at the Public Memorial Square, and presented flowers to mourn for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre.

As a representative of the teenagers, Liu Xingchen, a Spanish-Chinese, read the Proposal. The proposal called for young people to remember history, cherish peace, try their best to let the flower of friendship bloom and the sunlight of peace shine in every corner of the world together with all peace-lovers, and make a contribution to friendly exchanges between peoples from different countries.
