Over 50 Visually Impaired People Visited the Memorial Hall
On April 3, over 50 visually impaired people from the Changzhou Association for the Blind, Jiangsu visited the Memorial Hall. The Memorial Hall chose that day to offer them a most fulfilling experience as the Memorial Hall is usually closed on Monday.
Accompanied by staff and volunteers, the visitors laid a wreath at the Mourning Square to mourn the victims of the Nanjing Massacre, and then walked into the exhibit hall. On that day, a long table was temporarily set up at the entrance of the display hall for historical materials. On it were the models of National Memorial Cauldron and Bell of Peace. The visitors touched and rang the bell. In the exhibit hall, they read the “iron book” to sense the irrefutable evidence.
Later, they listened to a song popular among the residents in the Nanking Safety Zone during the massacre and touched the tombstone of John Rabe to feel the glory of human nature in the international friend.
