The Research Society of Nanjing Massacre History Convened a Conference to Elect New Members
The Research Society of Nanjing Massacre History held the Sixth General Meeting on February 7 to elect the new president, vice president, directors and consultants. The election brought new blood for the development of the research society, with half of the members being new entrants.
The Editorial Research Office of Nanjing Massacre History was set up between 1983 and 1985 when preparations were under way for establishing the Memorial Hall. A decade later, theResearch Society of Nanjing Massacre History was inaugurated on August 14, 1995 thanks to support from all walks of life.
Zhang Sheng, dean of the School of History, Nanjing University, was reelected as President of the research society. “The new board of directors will better leverage the positive role of the research society in strengthening academic research, enhancing academic exchanges, cultivating academic professionals, and expanding academic influence, and attract more young scholars to engage in the research into the Nanjing Massacre history,” Zhang said.
“Research into the Nanjing Massacre history will always be a fundamental task of the Memorial Hall. We look forward to working and enhancing communication with young people, and tapping into their potential” said Zhou Feng, director of the Memorial Hall.
