Ring in the New Year, Wish for World Peace
On January 1, 2023, the Memorial Hall held the ceremony of raising the national flag and striking Bell of Peace at the Public Memorial Square. In the resounding ringing of the bell, we wished the world a wonderful, peaceful future!
Hong Taotian, Wang Rui and Wang Chenhui from Hefei in east China’s Anhui Province were among the earliest visitors to the Memorial Hall on the first day of 2023. As fresh university graduates, they have just started their career. “Visiting the Memorial Hall is on my agenda on the first day of the new year. Although we’re living in a peaceful time, we should still be mindful of possible dangers. My new year’s resolution is to work harder and play my part in building China into a strongand prosperous country,” Wang Rui said.
Many parents took their children to visit the Memorial Hall in the hope that they can learn about history, love their country, and cherish peace.
Mrs. Wang, from central China’s Henan Province, took her son Xiaojia to visit the Memorial Hall. “I’m living a very happy life now. I want to help build my country bigger and stronger when I grow up,” the Grade 1 boy said.
