The Ninth National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims (Full Record)
December 13, 2022 marked the ninth National Memorial Day for Victims in Nanjing Massacre. At 8 a.m., the National Flag was raised and lowered at half mast in the publicmemorial square. In the loud and powerful national anthem, the national flag of the People's Republic of China was slowly raised, and was slowly lowered. In the name of our nation, we mourned the victims of the Nanjing Massacre.
At 10 o'clock, the memorial ceremony was held. The scene was solemn. About 3,000 representatives from all walks of life stood in silence with white flowers on their chests.
The public memorial ceremony began, and the National Anthem of the People's Republic of China was played. At the end of the national anthem, the participators paid silent tribute to the victims of the Nanjing Massacre. At this moment, the city of Nanjing sounded the air defense sirens. Cars stooped and whistled. People stood in silence. When the silence ended, 16 soldiers from the PLA's Ceremonial Battalion laid eight wreaths on the public altar, in the tune of "National Memorial Music" performed by the PLA Military Band.
After that, state leader Cai Qi made a speech. He said: "Today, we are here to solemnly hold a national memorial ceremony for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre, deeply remember the innocent victims of the Nanjing Massacre, remember the dead compatriots who were killed by the Japanese aggressors, remember the revolutionary martyrs and national heroes who gave their lives for the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, remember the international soldiers and friends who gave their lives together with the Chinese people to fight against the Japanese aggressors, and express the Chinese people's unswerving and lofty aspiration for a peaceful development path that proclaims the firm position of the Chinese people to keep history in mind, never forget the past, cherish peace and create the future."
After Cai Qi's speech, 85 representatives of Nanjing teenagers read the Declaration of Peace. Six representatives from all walks of life rang the "peace bell". Accompanied by three deep bells, 3,000 doves of peace flew high into the sky, expressing the Chinese nation's endless mourning for the dead and its endless hope for world peace.

At 15:00, the “World Peace Rite" was held in front of the Victims List Wall (Wailing Wall) of the Memorial Hall. Representatives of religious circles and believers in Nanjing chanted sutras in unison, praying for world peace.
At 6:30 p.m., the "Candlelight Vigil • International Peace Rally " was held in the Memorial Hall. Chinese and foreign people wore plain clothes and held white candles online and offline to mourn for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre and pray for permanent peace in the world.
