November 9 marks the commemoration of Iris Chang’s death. The Memorial Hall posted a micro video in memory of her.

Iris Chang's mother Yingying Changsent a special audio message. She said: "Iris Chang died 18 years ago. At that time my husband and I really couldn't accept it. In 2006, I decided to turn that sadness into strength. I have been carrying forward her ideas and her work. Her life was very short, but she’s full of power. She would always be an active, hardworking, enthusiastic and curious child in my heart. Her life has encouraged many people. Her motto was 'power of one'. She thought that the power of a person was actually very huge, and never don't look down on yourself. I hope that when we remember her, we should know that even though her life was short, we need to contribute to society by using our own strength just like her.

Iris Chang, you were a fighter for history. We will always miss you.
