August 14 is the Internatioanl MemorialDay for the "Comfort Women”.Inthe Nanjing Museum of the Siteof Liji Lane Comfort Station, a branch of the Memorial Hall, held a flower-laying ceremony to remember and honour the deceased victims of the Japanese Army’s“comfort women” system. Visitors stopped by to offer sunflowers which is a symbol of warmth and light.

From 1931 to 1945, more than 200,000 Chinese women were forced to become "comfort women" for the Japanese army. Until now, fewer than 20 survivors of the Japanese "comfort women" system have been registered as living in Chinese mainland. They are still waiting for an apology from the Japanese government.
