In the winter of 1937, 10-year-old Ge Daorong was stabbed in the right leg by a Japanese soldier’s bayonet while protecting his younger brother and sister. In the spring of 2022, having been a great-grandfather, Ge Daorong told the story of the Zijin Grassto his six-year-old great-granddaughter Ge Qianying. Little Ge, one of the "ZijinGrass girls", more deeply understood the terrible war and the value of peace.

On the eve of the Tomb-sweeping Day this year, the Memorial Hall held a solicitation for "ZijinGrass girls".Out of more than 100 little girls who signed up, ten "ZijinGrass girls" ambassadorswere selected, including Ge Qianying. In the future, they will participate in social education and volunteer service activities held by the Memorial Hall.
