March 28 was the birthday of Ma Tingbao, a survivor of the Nanjing Massacre. Due to the epidemic, the staff of the Memorial Hall could not visit his home, so the staff of the Nanjing Aid Association for the Victims of Atrocities by Japanese Invaders, subordinate to the Memorial Hall, ordered flowers, a birthday cake, milk, Salted Duck and other gifts online, and sent greetings to Grandpa Ma via video chat, wishing him a happy birthday, health and longevity!

Ma Tingbao told the staff that he had undergone nucleic acid tests for several times recently, and did not go out except for the tests. At present, everything of his family was fine. The staff said they would visit grandpa after the outbreak was over. Ma Tingbao said happily, "I’m grateful for the Memorial Hall and the staff for their concerns. I’m so moved and I’m doing well now. Please rest assured!"

Not long ago, when Ma Tingbao's brother Ma Tinglu celebrated his birthday, the Memorial Hall also ordered flowers, a birthday cake and other gifts and sent greetings to Grandpa Ma online. As early as March 15, at the beginning of this round of the outbreak in China, the staff sent messages to every survivor and their family members to remind them to pay attention to the prevention of the epidemic. In the past half a month, the staff had called the survivors one by one three times to inquire about their physical conditions, and compiled a "Health Registration Form for Survivors of the Nanjing Massacre" for follow-up care.

The Memorial Hall and the association carry out normalized services such as survivors’ disease relief, love and sympathy and health care. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic, the Memorial Hall and the association have been particularly concerned about the survivors, raised epidemic prevention materials especially masks and sent to them. The staff often greeted them with phone calls and text messages, paying attention to their health at any time.
