Li Shuzhen, a survivor of Japanese army's "comfort women" system, died on March 11 at the age of 108.

Li was born in Pingjiang County, Hunan province in October 1915. In 1944, at the age of 29, Li shuzhen was captured by a Japanese troop and imprisoned in a house at the foot of a mountain. Several women from the same village were held there with Li. They were sexually assaulted by Japanese soldiers. A few days later, the Japanese transferred them to a stronghold and continue the assaulting. As long as they were slightly dissatisfied, they harshly beat the women. Li Shuzhen was wounded on the back during this period. Later as her body could not bear the ravages of the Japanese soldiers she was abandoned, and her family found her and took her home.
