Drama I Want to Ask You Showed the Reflections of a Young Japanese Scholar on the China-Japan Relationship in History and Future
On the evening of September 19, Drama I Want to Ask You held an audition before the formal performance in the Black Box Theater of Nanjing University.
This play narrated about three young women from China, Japan and Malaysia. As they explored in the rehearsal room about three Japanese woman that were abandoned in China by war of aggression against China. In the progress, they learned that more than 70 years ago, they were deceived by the Japanese government to participate in the "Manchu and Mongolia Exploitation Group" to "manchukuo", and their unpredictable fate ever since. They listened to their criticism on the evil act of aggression war launched by the Japanese militaristic government. They sincerely thanked the Chinese for saving their lives, hated war, prayed for peace and hoped for generations of friendship between China and Japan.
Chie KOBAYASHi is the scriptwriter and leading actress of the drama. This is her second trip to Nanjing University. Four months ago, she worked as a group translator for the Shelf Theatre of Japan. In the process of her work, she learned that she had an opportunity to take her work to the Black Box Theater and was very excited. In the following two months, Chie kept communicating with us, began rehearsals with her supervisor Wang Naizhen in Beijing, and produced this work all at her own expense.
